Android Lollipop is sure one heck of an operating system. It's 
pretty, it's immensely functional and it's sweet to the core. Google 
seems to have put its heart and soul into it, and the results do seem 
noteworthy. The much-talked about material design and all that glitter 
is perhaps one of the best that we have seen in recent times, something 
that puts even Apple's iOS to shame in many aspects.<br />
<br />
All in all, 
Lollipop is visually stunning and very functional. But then again, 
Lollipop is yet to see its advent on most devices. While Nexus and 
Motorola devices, as expected have been the lucky ones with regards to 
the same, other OEMs are still burning the midnight oil to bring it to 
their respective devices.<br />
<br />
But, let's just take a moment to 
remember everything that led to Lollipop. Before Lollipop, there was 
KitKat, and it was good. There's little surprise that more 
smartphones/tablets today ship with Android KitKat out-of-the-box, with 
some of them promised an update to Lollipop. No wonder, KitKat is such 
an important part of Google's ecosystem, and a significant revenue 
generator for the same.<br />

If you're one of the many who have tasted 
Lollipop (Nexus, Moto owners), but still want to get back to KitKat for 
fun or for whatever reason, we are here with some tech tips to get you 
through the whole process in under 5 minutes.<br />
<br />
<h2>
Here's how you can revert back to KitKat from Lollipop:</h2>
<br />Take
 note though, before you begin make sure you have a backup of all your 
data on your computer, drive (not the phone) because what you're going 
to do next will delete all the data on your Lollipop-based phone.<br />
Also, we are using a Nexus device here for reference. <br />
---Before you begin, you'll need the factory image of Android 4.4.4 for your respective device. You can download these from <a href="http://facebook.com/softitech">here</a>.
 Note that, factory images for your respective Lollipop-based phone 
shall vary depending on model, so make sure you have the right one for 
you respective device.<br />
---Once you have the required factory 
image, you're good to go. But wait, you need one more thing: ADB Tools 
for your computer. ADB Tools can be downloaded from <a href="http://facebook.com/softitech">XDA Developers Forum</a>.<br />
<br />
---Once
 you have the factory image and the ADB Tools (on your computer), the 
real stuff begins. Move and unzip the factory image to the ADB Tools 
folder on your computer. <br />
<br />
---Make sure you have USB debugging 
enabled on your phone. Also, make sure you have the bootloader unlocked 
on your phone. This is one area where we would like to inform the 
obvious: TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK. Unlocking the bootloader may void your 
device's warranty.<br />
---Once you're through these steps, turn off your Lollipop-based smartphone.  <br />
<br />
<br />
---Next
 you need to open your device to its Fastboot mode. Normally this is 
done by pressing the power button and volume down buttons together, when
 the device is switched off. Once you're in the Fastboot mode, navigate 
to the device's Recovery mode using the volume keys.   <br />
---Next select wipe cache partition. Factory reset your device.<br />
<br />
<br />
---Connect your device to your computer via USB cable.<br />
<br />
---Navigate
 to the ADB Tools folder on your computer, till you find the file 
'all.bat'. Double click it and KitKat will start installing on your 
factory reset smartphone. Once it's installed, your device will 
automatically restart.<br />
<br />
---There you have it; you have KitKat running on your smartphone.<br />
<br />
Of
 course, try this at your own risk though. Rooting your device is not 
always recommended, but hey, those you like to play around with gadgets 
don't mind their hands getting messy, do they?        </div>

Apple's event normally have an aura around them like no other. The 
halo effect of 'Apple's Spring Forward' event can be still felt across 
the tech industry especially in the wake of some of the radical 
announcements related to the new MacBook. There a degree of hue-and-cry 
over the fact that new MacBook has dumped a traditional trackpad for a 
new technology that Apple calls the 'force touch' trackpad. The bigger 
issue is the elimination of traditional ports like the USB, HDMI, 
Mini-Display and the standard MagSafe connector that Macs are known for.<br />
<br />
Apple has replaced all these ports with a singular port called 
the USB-C connector, which can handle all the aforementioned connections
 through a single port, with the obvious help of adaptors. <br />
But if you are wondering what this port is exactly, then you have headed to the right place. <br />
<h2>
What is USB-Type C? </h2>
<br />You
 have probably heard of USB -- or Universal Serial Bus, which is a 
widely used standard since the mid 90's. It is the port where you plug 
in your pen drives, your external hard drives, and much more. Now, Apple
 has removed the standard USB port from the new MacBook, to the horror 
of many. In fact, ports like HDMI also don't make an appearance.<br />
<br />
So
 you'll be wondering how the MacBook will handle all these traditional 
legacy connections. Apple wants its users to depend on wireless 
solutions like AirDrop, Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Wi-Fi.<br />
<br />
However, these 
solutions don't work for the average user and things like AirPlay and 
AirDrop are not even cross-platform, so you need to be locked in to 
Apple's galaxy of products.<br />
<br />
However, with USB-C Apple manages to offer the best of both worlds albeit through costly and ungainly adaptors.<br />
<br />
USB-C
 is a new standard that has been developed by USB corporation in 
conjunction with Intel, Apple, Google and Microsoft. It is a reversible 
plug, much like Apple's Lighting connector for the iPhone and iPad.<br />

This
 means you don't need to figure out which is the right way to plug in 
the connector as whatever side you plug-in, the connector just works. 
Lot of people damage their USB ports and this will be the port that puts
 an end to that.<br />

Importantly, it is also the same size of the 
microUSB connector at 8.4mm by 2.4mm, which makes it ideal for slim 
devices like the new MacBook. <br /><br />
<h2>
Why will it change your world?</h2>
<br />USB-Type
 C is the 'do-it-all' connector. It is backwards compatible with older 
USB standards like USB 2.0, and USB 3.0 and also supports USB 3.1.  In 
addition, it can handle significant power requirements. It can handle up
 to 20 watts, which is more than enough to power a notebook and multiple
 mobile devices. That's why, Apple has even ditched the magsafe 
connector and decided to power the new MacBook via the USB-C connection.<br />
<br />
It also handles data very well. Data transfer speeds can run up 
to 10Gbps , which is almost double of what USB-B connections can handle.
 This is the reason why the USB-C connector can also drive high 
resolution displays without any latency issues.<br />
<br />
The bigger deal 
is that this standard will not be restricted to Apple's products like 
the lightning connector found on iOS devices. As it has been built in 
collaboration with Intel, Microsoft and Google, USB-C will likely be 
found in many products, including notebooks in 2015. The MacBook is the 
just the first notebook to whole heartedly adopt it. In fact, already 
the Nokia N1 tablet, which was announced at the Slush Conference in 
Helsinki uses it.<br />
<br />
SanDisk and LaCie already have announced 
external drives utilising the standard. USB-C, going forward it will be 
the standard that will perhaps displace the traditional USB port. That's
 the direction all big tech majors are heading. <br />
<br />
<h2>
The one port to rule them all </h2>
<br />As
 of now, Apple has created a few adaptors for the USB-C port. There's 
one that's a USB-C to a standard USB port and thereâ€™s one for USB-C to
 HDMI and VGA connections. There are more connectors that third parties 
are developing, however, going forward the big deal will be the fact 
that a single cable could be used for multiple uses --- be it beaming 
video, data transfer or power. USB-C may not be as fast as Intel's 
Thunderbolt standard, but it will likely garner the ubiquity of USB 
because it has so many uses. </div>

Cupertino tech giant Apple's Spring Forward Event in San Francisco 
was a very important event for the company, call it a stepping stone for
 the company's future if you may. Most of us were already aware of what 
was in store, however, there's always a certain amount of buzz around 
every formal launch event, more so when it's coming from Apple. So yes, 
the much awaited Apple Watch has finally arrived but the star of the 
show clearly was the all new 11-inch MacBook, Apple's thinnest ever 
primarily because it comes loaded with many 'a firsts' from Apple's 
stable. <br />
Here's a detailed look at everything that Apple announced at its Spring Forward Event: <br />  <br />
1. <b>Apple Watch: </b>'The most advanced timepiece ever created' as the company calls it<br />

 Apple Watch has been perhaps the most anticipated pieces of gadgetry in
 the tech world for quite some time now. Back in September 2014, Apple 
CEO Tim Cook had introduced the device as a breakthrough product, not 
only for Apple but for the entire world of wearables, in general. Quite 
obviously then the frenzy around Apple's eventual advent into the smart 
wearable segment was huge and unsettling. Many would say Apple has been 
pretty late to the party. But looking at the sordid state of affairs of 
the current breed of wearables, we would like to think Apple was busy 
making something that could change the fate of the category altogether.<br />
<br />
The
 Apple Watch is a make or break product for the company being their 
first new product category since the iPad that made its debut ages ago 
in 2010. For a company that still owes much of its profit to the 
iPhones, the Apple Watch is indeed a huge bet and more.<br />
<br />
Available 
to pre-order on April 10 and on sale on April 24 in 9 countries, Apple's
 answer to Android Wear and Pebble Time for one has been designed to 
appeal to a whole range of preferences, according to Cook. It can be 
used to read, flag and mark emails; make and receive phone calls; 
receive and respond to notifications; access the likes of Instagram and 
even open hotel rooms and garage doors. And yes, it comes with the usual
 set of health and fitness applications.<br />
<br />
In addition, you can use 
the Apple Watch to make payments using Apple Pay (in U.S. only). For 
that touch is not necessary, simple proximity of the device will do the 
trick, says Apple.   <br />
<br />
You will have access to third-party apps as
 companies including Uber, Salesforce.com and American Airlines have 
collaborated with Apple for the same.<br />
<br />
It will work with the iPhone 5 and newer models, note that it is not compatible with iPads or iPods. <br />
According
 to the company, the Apple Watch's battery can last for 18 hours on 
normal usage and the device charges with a magnetic charger.<br />
<br />
<b>Pricing:</b><br />
<br />Basic Apple Watch Sport made of Aluminium alloy costs $349 (38mm) and $399 (42mm).<br />Mid-tier steel model with the 'widest varieties of bands' costs $549- $1049 (38mm) and $599-$1099 (42mm) depending on the band.<br />
<br />High-end limited Apple Watch Edition costs $10,000 and available in select retail stores only.<br />

2. <b>iOS 8.2</b> with Apple Watch support<br />

The new update brings in Apple Watch support as well 
as the new HomeKit feature that will allow users to control devices at 
home using their Apple devices. The Health app has been improved and the
 update adds key stability enhancements and bug fixes, such as fix for 
the tricky Calendar bug. <br /><br />
3. <b>Apple's new 12-inch MacBook:</b> Apple's first ever fanless laptop is 24% thinner than the MacBook Air<br />

quite a regular affair now, only this time round the company has made 
what it calls the 'world's most efficient notebook.' <br />
The all-new 
12-inch MacBook has an all-metal, unibody design and weighs just two 
pounds and measures mere 13.1 mm at its thickest point, making it 24% 
thinner than the previous generation 11-inch MacBook Air. According to 
the company, the notebook has no visible antenna plastic ports on the 
exterior. <br />
<br />
The new MacBook has a 12-inch Retina display with a 
2304Ã—1440pixels resolution that roughly translates to 3.3 million 
pixels in total. This is the thinnest display on a MacBook ever all the 
while using 30% less energy than the existing MacBook Retina displays, 
while delivering the same brightness level.<br />
<br />
It features a 
full-size much thinner keyboard based on Apple's butterfly mechanism 
that is 40% thinner than the traditional scissor-based ones used in 
standard keyboards. According to Apple, if you hit the edges of the 
keys, the whole key depresses without wobble offering higher precision.<br />
<br />
The
 new Apple trackpad features built-in force sensors and haptic feedback 
for an adjustable click feel. It comes with 'Force Click' sensitivity 
for more tap context like quickly previewing a file by a simple click 
followed by a deeper press. <br />
<br />
There are no moving parts or vents in this one so that the new MacBook becomes the first fanless Mac notebook ever.<br />
<br />
The
 MacBook is powered by the new fifth-generation Intel Core M 14nm 
process chip that runs at just 5 along with Intel HD Graphics 5300.<br />
<br />
New
 batteries on-board are designed as contoured sheets that let them fit 
35% more battery in the new MacBook. According to Apple: Wireless Web 
browsing: 9 hours, iTunes movie playback: 10 hours is what you'll be 
getting.<br />
<br />
There's only one port on the new MacBook: the USB-C 
standard that supports USB, VGA, Power, Display Port and HDMI. 
Connectivity options include 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.<br />The new MacBook starts at $1,299 and will be available in silver, space grey and gold. Shipping starts April 10.<br />

 with 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor (Turbo Boost speeds up to 
2.4GHz), 8GB RAM, 256GB internal memory and Intel HD Graphics 5300 costs

Meanwhile, Apple has also updated the 11-inch MacBook Air to thunderbolt 2 and faster i5 processors.<br />

The 13-inch MacBook Pro now comes with Force Touch trackpad, 2x faster flash, 10 hours of battery life and faster processors.<br />

4. <b>Apple ResearchKit: </b>For medical research<br />

 to Apple, its new Research Kit is a software framework made 
specifically for medical research that would aid researchers and medical
 practitioners in collecting and organizing patients' medical data 
through the iPhone, so that they can create apps depending on case 
studies. <br />
Currently, the kit includes apps for breast cancer, 
diabetes, Parkinson's disease, cardiovascular disease and asthma for 
which Apple has worked with various research centres like University of 
Rochester and Massachusetts General.<br />
<br />
Responding to privacy 
concerns, the company has reiterated that all data collected for the 
purpose would be private and that Apple wouldn't see it.<br />
Moreover, Apple is Open Sourcing Research Kit. <br />
<br />
5. <b>HBO Now coming exclusively to Apple TV</b><br />
<br />

Android 5.0 Lollipop is Google’s latest operating system update for smartphones, tablets and even Android Wear-running

New look, dubbed Material</h2>

 first thing you'll notice about Android 5.0 is that it looks quite 
different to the current Android 4.4 Android, and it's not – as we once 
thought – like the experimental Experience UI used in the Nexus 5. <br /><br />Google
 has come up with a new interface look, called Material. It's a lot more
 vibrant that current Android, and it makes much more use of interface 
layers. This is quite the opposite of recent trends in UI design, which 
have all been about making interfaces as flat and simple as possible. 
Material may be simple, but it's not flat.<br /><br />As part of the new 
Material interface, Google is also introducing two new widgets. The 
first is a more power-efficient RecyclerView widget, which can be used 
for features like scrolling through Contacts. The second is a new 
CardView widget, which has a very Google Now-inspired feel and should
